1. ESCO Institute and HVAC Excellence

ESCO Institute’s online store presents several resources for technicians looking to complete certification or sharpen their skills through training manuals, powerpoints, reference guides and more. HVAC Excellence, an affiliate of ESCO, is a non profit organization that offers accredited certifications from the high school level to the master levels.

2. North American Technician Excellence

NATE is the world’s largest non-profit certification organization for technicians. It’s the only technician certification organization governed, owned, operated, developed and supported by the industry. NATE is headquartered in Arlington, Virginia and offers local testing and resources to technicians in the area.

3. HVAC Ed

HVAC Ed is a great place to find information on vocational and trade programs, schools and colleges. Easily type your zip code into their courses locator to identify schools near you. If you’re looking for a job in the industry, they can link you with resources to help you match with a possible employer. HVAC Ed is also a good place for seasoned professionals to check regularly for updates and changes on laws and regulations. Interesting facts about professionals are also included on the website’s homepage.

4. Women in HVACR

According to the Women in HVACR website, this organization exists to improve the lives of its members by offering professional avenues to connect with other women growing their careers in the industry. They strive to empower women to succeed through networking opportunities, mentoring and education. They’re vision is that “Women in HVACR will be recognized as the premier organization for women in the industry, intent on offering multiple avenues for women to connect and grow, both professionally and personally.”

5. HVAC Talk (Forum)

Owned and operated by Contracting Business, the HVAC Talk forum is the world’s largest forum for professionals and the #1 HVAC community. Members can start new conversations or contribute to growing threads and hear what’s going on in the industry from other experienced individuals in the field.

6. ACHR News

ACHR News is full of great resources including a magazine, news stories relevant to the ACHR industry, videos, podcasts, ebooks and much more. According to the site, BNP Media is one of the country’s leading business-to-business media companies serving industry professionals across 50+ industries through magazines, custom media, e-newsletters, website conferences, events and market research.

HVAC Service Mentor offers online training as well as connections to live training and programs in your area. The online programs include Technicians Acceleration Program Online Training, Boiler Basic Training and Gas Heating Boot Camp. They also offer a select list of job listings and private training is available upon request.
